The Ghosts In Our Machine

What is THE GHOSTS IN OUR MACHINE?

Recently, our Twitter Goddess Danielle Legg conducted this cool little event on facebook — take a look, it’s so interesting what the general public is saying about THE GHOSTS IN OUR MACHINE, before we have released the film. Thanks everyone for your comments!

Danielle Legg This is a neat little event to find out more about what the Ghosts Community is thinking about The Ghosts in Our Machine. “I’m excited for the release of The Ghosts In Our Machine because ____________________”

Debra Roppolo It’s going to open so many eyes and hearts and change so many perspectives…and so help to change the world. For the animals. For everyone.

Shannon Kornelsen it’s going to shine light into the unexplored corners of animal-use industries.

OceanArtist BobTimmons Because Jo-Anne McArthur & Liz Marshall are two amazing ladies! Their efforts and hard work will shine animal stories deeper than the majority could imagine!

Diane V Gandee Sorbi It will change minds and open hearts, and help move us toward a vegan world.

Donna Oakes ditto ditto ditto ditto what everyone above has said. This will be the film that people cannot excuse themselves from seeing. They can’t say ‘oh, it’s too graphic” and use it as an excuse not to know. This is the film that will enter their hearts and souls – they will not be able to stop thinking about it. They’ll see things through new eyes. They’ll look at Jo-Anne and see her kindness and beauty and love – and they’ll want to be like her. Liz, you have created a film like no other. For the Ghosts always xoxoxo

Rosemary Tarentino Foos I’m excited for the release because Jo-Anne McArthur ‘s story and her work will be illustrated in the most artful and compelling way via Liz Marshall and the Ghost Team. It will reach many people who might not otherwise be exposed to our relationship with non-human animals . It’s going to be epic!

Abigail Doan … because it is a story that has to be told if we are to move towards any sort of compassionate (and sustainable) model for the future. It is a film for the naysayers as much as for followers, mostly because the truth is not something that you can hide from when the images are so powerful and intimately close to home.

Vegan Business Guide … it will be a truly valuable contribution towards helping our (human) species to evolve into a new level of awareness of and compassion towards all sentient beings. The short clips that we’ve seen so far are wonderfully filmed and beautifully emotive and we are eager to see the complete version. Based on what we have seen so far and what we know of Jo-Anne McArthur’s work, we will also be very happy to share and promote the film on our Vegan Business Guide page. The film’s message about speciesism and how our fellow sentient creatures are being exploited needs to be spread as far and wide as possible. Furthermore, this films offers superb insights into what a wonderful world we can create together once we fully recognize and acknowledge how all sentient beings are here for their own purposes, not for human benefit or as our “property”. Peace! Vegan

Mary Nesbitt-Larking I’m excited for the release of The Ghosts in Our Machine because I want the whole world to see what I’ve seen. I want everyone to understand the importance of animal equality and speciesism. I want this to become something completely huge so that there is a statistical dip in the meat and dairy industry. I want this to change the world.
.
Amber Eastman oh we all do Mary – & I pray that oneday we will all look back on all of this torture in absolute horror. We must be the change we wish to see… will be sharing this movie with everyone xxx

Vyolet Michaels The Ghosts in Our Machine are the mostly forgotten animal souls who are treated like widgets and deprived of all that is meaningful in life so people can enjoy unnecessary pleasures. The Ghosts in Our Machine are also the desperate people often forced to take jobs at slaughterhouses, whose bodies and spirits are broken down with serious physical and psychological abuse. People disconnect from the process from early brainwashing and pretend the ghosts don’t exist as they pick up their neatly plastic wrapped body parts. The pain and misery continues on to those consuming the corpses and secretions as the stress hormones, cholesterol and dead flesh wreck havoc on their bodies. The Ghosts In Our Machine are the starving people who could all be fed if not for all the resources wasted for animal meat production. The Ghosts in Our Machine will be all of us if we don’t change now.
.
Helen Prancic The Ghosts in Our Machine is an examination of visceral empathy.
.
Danielle Legg  “The Ghosts In Our Machine has changed _______________________”
.
Donna Oakes my life!!!! In so many wonderful and beautiful ways.
.
Helen Prancic The Ghosts in Our Machine has changed how media tells stories about the core of all sentient beings.
.
Mary Nesbitt-Larking The Ghosts in Our Machine has inspired me to never give up on my animal activism. It has inspired me to treat ALL sentient beings as equals whether they’re the ants we walk past every day to the elusive blue whales of our oceans. It has inspired me to keep up my Veganism and to try and persuade others to take that same path in a positive and non forceful way.
.
Candace Dolphin The Ghosts in our Machine is about all the lives lost everyday and what we are consuming and putting in our bodies. The ghosts are the spirits of all the animals and the machine could be your body or even a factory farm. I think it’s about looking at things from a different perspective.
.
Patty Webber The Ghosts in Our Machine gives a voice and a face to the mostly silent and invisible suffering of other species at human hands. It seeks to break the ingrained, insane cycle of mindless learned behaviours that result from the erroneous belief of human supremacy, through discussion, images, and exposure. TGIOM encourages us to never be silent.
Tamara Grignon The Ghosts In Our Machine is the truth and consequences behind the willful ignorance of the things we put in and on our bodies.”
.
Mary Nesbitt-Larking The Ghosts in Our Machine is an exposition of the mess human kind have created and sheds light into the realities of what we’ve done, particularly to ‘the ghosts.’
